Hi, I’m Melisa; the owner and founder of Kentucky Mountain Doodles, and my husband Terry.
After being in the United States Air Force, and working for 7 years as an RN, in 2001 I started the business by breeding and training Labrador Retriever's, specializing in the field type Labradors for hunting and field trials. Then, in 2003 I transitioned into breeding Labradoodles and Goldendoodles, but now the focus is more on breeding and training Australian Mountain Doodles, Aussiedoodles, Bernedoodles, and Goldendoodles.
With my love for dogs, the outdoors, and meeting new people, I was able to accomplish my dream business with the love and support from all my family and friends, and The Good Lord above.
My husband Terry, my right-hand man, has a true love and passion for dogs and the outdoors as well. He is our kennel manager, handy man, and chief puppy spoiler. Terry makes sure the puppies get lots of exercise, socialization, and treats.
Together we are able to run a very successful family owned/operated business and give our fur kids the very best start possible.

Taylor
Hi, I’m Taylor; daughter of Melisa, and co-owner of Kentucky Mountain Doodles.
I'm 24 years old, with experience training dogs for 10+ years. Over the years I’ve developed a strong specialization in advanced obedience training and Psychiatric Service Dog training, which has become the true focus of my career. Living in Kentucky full-time, my life revolves around dogs and the incredible transformations that take place when they learn, grow, and develop a deep bond with their future owners/handlers. For me, training is more than just teaching commands- its about being trust, creating confidence, and shaping dogs into the reliable companions who can truly change lives. My passion for this work started long before I ever called it a career. I grew up watching my mom breed and train dogs, and her love and dedication for the craft inspired me from an early age.
Today, I share my life with three amazing dogs of my own who not only bring me joy but also remind me daily of what a blessing from God dogs truly are.
In my free time I am also devoted to helping place rescue animals in loving forever homes in the states of Kentucky, Ohio,
Indiana and eastern Missouri.
My love for animals is truly unmatched, dogs especially. I am so incredibly fortunate to wake up every day and do exactly what I love.
Tammy
My name is Tammy Armstrong, I am born and raised in Clermont County, Ohio. I have been married for 45 years and have a step daughter, a biological son and daughter, and 5 grandchildren, ranging from age 3 to 24. After graduating from the Univeristy of Cincinnati, I opened a child care center, along side of a good friend. After 4 years I sold the business and went to work as a social worker for Children Protective Services. After 20 years of investigations I went to work for an elderly services organization for the next 13 years. As I was nearing retirement I adopted my sweet Daisy from Kentucky Mountain Doodles. Although I have been a lifetime dog lover, I quickly realized how special the doodle breeds are. When I shared with Melisa that I was contemplating retirement, she offered me the ability to become a trainer and guardian for Doodles. 4+ years alter, I have trained 7 sweet doggies and placed over 20 retirees. It is a very rewarding experience and I am thankful to Melisa and Taylor for the opportunity.
